SAD DEATH OF FREDDIE STARR

John was so sad to hear the news of the death of the brilliant funny man Freddie Starr. He interviewed him on two occasions on the Isle of Wight. These were arranged by  Leon Fisk, once of the Dallas Boys group, who managed him for several years. On one of these Freddie had a real touch of flu but he still turned up and gave John a great interview. As Des O’Connor found out, you didn’t know what to expect from Fred. When Fred, Oliver Reed and Stan Boardman were live on Des’ TV show it was mayhem. It was the last live show Des ever did. There was a lot of water around during the final scenes.
