John was so sad to hear the news of the death of his good friend Bernie Cullen. They were good mates over many years and Bern was the first-ever guest on IW Radio’s John Hannam Meets, back in 1990. He had returned several times to the show. John has also written articles about him in various newspapers and magazines. Bern was a popular Island entertainer and during his young days was an exceptional footballer. John and Bernie played a few tricks on each other over the years. They’d met on several occasions during the last few months, in Bern’s man cave. Bernie is to be featured in John’s next book – and he was thrilled about that.
