WC October 2.
On Tuesday we went to the new musical Cilla at the Mayflower, Southampton. It’s based on the recent TV series called Cilla, that starred the amazing Sheridan Smith. I enjoyed it very much and there were several outstanding performances. It’s another wonderful feel-good show.
The following day I went back to Southampton to interview the theatre director Thom Southerland, about Titanic – The Musical, which debuts at the Mayflower next April. It’s such an exciting production and the launch included live songs from the show and video clips from it. Tickets are selling fast already.
On Thursday night I was honoured, for the second time, to host the AgeUK Isle of Wight Awards at the Lakeside Hotel, Wootton. It’s always quite a scary evening with so much that go wrong. Thankfully, it all seemed to go fairly smoothly and they seemed happy with my efforts. I have a feeling that I might be asked back for next year. Met some old friends and made a few new ones.
On Friday I had a request to talk at a ladies luncheon at the fabulous Concorde Club, at Eastleigh. This is likely to happen in early November. Around 80 ladies are expected to be present – and I’m already really looking forward to it. My books will also be available.
