WC July 3.
I went to the Island’s Post Box Museum, Binfield, on Tuesday and was very impressed with both the memorabilia to look at and the owner, Arthur Reeder, who has such a unique collection. Well worth a visit. You can find more details on their website.
Went to the Loose Women studio on Thursday, at the London offices of ITV. It was to see my old pal Joe Pasquale and he gave me a great interview. Afterwards we spent an hour with Craig Douglas at Dolphin Square. He looked better than I had seen him for some while. I love meeting up with him.
I have heard that there is a possibility that I might be appearing at the IW Literary Festival in October. It would be such an honour to appear in the same festival as people like the wonderful Andrew Marr. Nothing is definite at the moment.
I had a great Saturday afternoon watching Ventnor Cricket Club play Basingstoke in the Southern League. It was a surprise win for Ventnor – and they deserved it. My old friend and ex-County cricketer, David Griffiths, played for Basingstoke, the club he now coaches, and it was thrilling to see him bowl at over 80 miles an hour. One or two of us were glad we were just watching.
On a very hot Sunday afternoon, I was surprised anyone turned up for my talk at Warner’s, Norton Grange. It turned out as a most enjoyable occasion and the audience response was good, Sold a few books, too.
