WC JUNE 6.
With four podcasts to record it was not going to be a restful week. Early mornings and late nights but, as ever, well worth it. I also made real progress with regard to the production of my book with a very successful meeting. I am flattered people seem to like the project. I now have to get together soon with my friend Marty Wilde, who had the original idea for the book. When I used to watch him on Oh Boy! I could never have dreamed he would one day write the foreword for my book. He’s such a nice guy – and still a great rock ‘n’ roller.
Wednesday did not quite plan out as hoped. My girl friend, Bertie, ended up in hospital, after an horrendous fall in Dunelm Mill. She felt unwell in the store and collapsed with such a thud, in their café. The store staff were superb and the paramedic arrived so quickly from St Mary’s, followed by the ambulance. Her mouth was in a real mess and at least two teeth have been broken. The emergency dentist we visited later in the day told her to be prepared for a bill of up to £2000. This was in East Cowes and, amazingly, I had bought my first house in the town, in the mid 60s, for that same amount.
