WC FEBRUARY 29.
Had a most enjoyable Tuesday afternoon when I did a talk for McCarthy and Stone at their superb apartments near to Sainsbury’s in Newport. It was touch and go whether I even made it. I lost car keys just as I was ready to leave home. The more you search the more you become agitated. I was due at 2-30 and only made it thanks to my neighbour Rob who took me in in his car. I know this may surprise you but I have a bus pass so I could take my time getting home. Loved the friendly audience and met one or two old friends and made one or two new ones.
On Wednesday I interviewed one of the best young actors I have seen on the Island in recent years – Olly Fry. He can soon be heard on John Hannam Meets talking about his love of the theatre and his new project – The Story of Wendy and Jill, which is at the Memorial Hall, Freshwater, on 16 and 17 of April. Great fun to interview.
Much theatre talk later in the week when my daughter, Caroline, came over for a few days. She had a week out from touring with The Last Tango, starring Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace Britain’s two finest tango dancers.
