WC March 29.

What away to start a week. One of my favourite actors is Liz White, from hit series like Life On Mars, From There To Here, Teachers, Our Zoo and many others. Her films include The Woman In Black, Vera Drake and Pride. I was thrilled to interview her at the Electric Airwaves studio in London. A marvellous lady and it was a pleasure to be in her company. En route I popped into Dolphin Square to catch up with my old friend Craig Douglas.

On Thursday night I went to the Apollo Theatre, Newport, to see Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks. It was the best thing I had seen at the Apollo for some time aided by an outstanding performance from Helen Clinton-Pacey. She was well supported by John Abraham and there was a great cameo from Kate Fysh, the prop changer, cunningly disguised as the maid. A real audience pleaser.

On Saturday night I went to see one of my long term showbiz friends, Tom O’Connor, live at Warner’s Bembridge Coast. He was in amazing form and did 90 minutes of clever stand-up material and was given a standing ovation. Not a swear word or smutty joke in sight. He’s been a credit to the business. Sadly, there are not many of his ilk around today.
