On Tuesday I spent a very enjoyable afternoon at my good friend Julie Clifton’s lovely apartment in Ryde. She is soon to appear on John Hannam Meets. Hence to say – we had fun and she was in fine form.
It was his wish that I was the first media person Shirley would ring. We had became really close friends in the past few years.
Shaw was such a modest person and he thought that no-one would remember him. How wrong he was. The response was extraordinary and tributes come in from so many different directions. The social media was full of his name and the memories people had. I was honoured to talk about such a lovely man and outstanding professional. I was filmed for BBC TV, interviewed by several radio stations throughout Britain and phoned by numerous daily papers. I think you get inspired when you are asked to talk about very special people. I will miss him so much.
