WC January 26
What a day on Monday! I left home at 7-15am and got back at 11pm, complete with three great interviews – well at least the guests were. I went to the London home of legendary movie, stage and TV actor Sylvia Syms – and what a hoot that was. We really hit it off and I extended the interview as she was so interesting. She’s made more than 50 movies and lots more TV shows and live stage appearances. She never stopped talking – a dream for a chat show host.
I headed back to Southampton via Chichester where I interviewed Jason Donovan and Raymond Couthard. The two major stars of The King’s Speech which is at the Festival Theatre until February 14. It was third time lucky for an interview with Jason – and he was well worth the wait. He gave me a very frank interview. Raymond Coulthard was in great form – too. His hit series include Emmerdale, Love Soup, Castles, Hotel Babylon and Mr Selfridge. It seems I might have three more next Monday.
Had a great morning with the wonderful Eddie Minghella on Thursday. All will be revealed soon.
I attended the Friday night Shanklin Conservative Club charity night to celebrate the life of the late and wonderful KEITH NEWBERY. Quite an emotional evening – and none of us wanted to be there for the reason we were. Keith is such a miss to Island life. Any success I have enjoyed is down to him.
What a great end to the week. A stunning ELkie Brooks concert at Shanklin Theatre. 500 people stood and applauded.
