WC January 19.
I must have been to the Bonchurch Social Club for the past five years. They book me as a speaker on a Monday night in January. – and it’s always such fun and I love the folks who attend. They now seem like friends. I tried out a brand new idea for a talk – and they seemed to enjoy it. It was called My First Address Book! Also came away with another idea for a JH Meets guest.
For the first time for many years I have been turned down by several local people with regard to interviews for John Hannam Meets. This does not happen very often. Others can’t wait to be asked but it doesn’t always work that way.
One of my favourite actors of all time – the wonderful Sylvia Syms – has agreed to appear on John Hannam Meets in my 25th year. I last met her in Bath, back in 1974, when she was in a play at the Theatre Royal. She then gave me an impromptu interview at the stage door for IW Hospital Radio. This time I will be going to her home in London. Several other fascinating interviews with famous people are also in the offing.
Sad to hear my good friend Roger Kitter, a very talented actor, impressionist and panto dame has recently passed away. We had some happy times over the year’s. His Mayflower pantos with Jim Davidson were memorable.
