WC OCTOBER 6.

I was hoping to go to Fareham on Monday to interview Stephen K Amos who is heading for Shanklin Theatre soon. It was the idea of his management. Sadly, he could not spare me 30 minutes to pre-record an interview to plug his Island shows. Isn’t showbiz a strange world!! I got an hour with Charlton Heston, Neil Sedaka, Bob Monkhouse, James Earl Jones, Englebert Humperdinck, John Mills and Sheridan Smith – and Mr Amos could not spare 30 minutes!!

Tuesday was much more exciting. I was so proud of my daughter Caroline. She won a national Technical Theatre Award for her work in wardrobe. Currently she is the head of wardrobe on Dance Til Dawn which opens in the West End on October 23.

On Wednesday I had the privilege of meeting Daisy Coulam, a very successful TV screenwriter, who grew up on the Island and went to Ryde High School. Her past successes include EastEnders and Holby City. She has written a current hit series on ITV. Daisy came back for our interview.

Later in the week it was head down for my two next features in The Beacon. These are Cyril Daish and Mavis Norris. Both have fascinating stories.

On Friday two great interview opportunities were confirmed for Monday October 13.
