WC OCTOBER 20.
What a week it’s turned out to be with three major interviews in three days. I had waited 39 years to interview TOMMY STEELE and this finally happened at the Mayflower, Southampton, on Tuesday lunchtime. I had been turned down a a few occasions in the past. What was he going to be like? I knew he was such a true professional. He was such a great guy to meet and we had real fun. He also opened up about a few myths concerning his past visits to the Isle of Wight.
The following day I was back at the Mayflower to interview ROBIN COUSINS – the former Olympic figure skating champion and now the head judge on Dancing On Ice. We had met before and he is extremely nice and very easy to interview. He is bringing a brand new sensational ice skating show to the Mayflower, called Robin Cousins’ Ice, early in January. It sounds quite amazing.
Just after I arrive home from Robin’s interview, I was invited to Chichester the following day to interview HARRY MELLING – who played Dudley Dursley in five Harry Potter movies. His character was overweight, a spoilt brat, a bully and gang leader. Nothing like Harry in real life. He has also lost over five stone since playing the part. This very successful young actor, now 24, is currently playing in King Lear at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester.
