WC DECEMBER 24 and 30.
A whole week with no interviews or shows to review. I was thrilled on Christmas Eve to discover Julian Clary had re-tweeted my Stage review, for his panto at the Mayflower, Southampton, to his 170,000 followers. It’s so brilliant I would like to go again. Plenty of showbiz talk at home over Christmas with my two young people back on the Island for a few days.
Just for a change after Christmas I went to my 11th pantomime of the festive season – and there was not a happy ending. During the first half of Shanklin Theatre’s Sleeping Beauty my girlfriend developed the start of a migraine headache. It meant, sadly, we had to leave in the interval. It was the last performance – so I will never know how it ended. I expect it was with a kiss from the Prince!! How nice to see around 600 in the theatre – and there were some excellent performances – and I’m certain I knew Queen Cheryl from somewhere??
Chasing interviews is never easy and I am struggling to get a rather special star guest – but it might still happen. There are one or two fascinating guests who have already said yes.
