WC APRIL 4.
The week got off to a bad start with an much-anticipated interview that just did not come off – despite me offering numerous days when I could have travelled to London. I had been led to believe, by his PR lady, that it was most likely to happen. Yes – I was disappointed. In this business, I always look on the bright side and another famous guest appeared just around the corner.
This particular guest does always look on the bright side – well for a few months, anyway. It is Isle of Wight-born Phill Jupitus, who is currently playing King Arthur in Spamalot. I nipped down to Dartford to see him. Other than the Orchard Theatre, there are few other delights in this Kent town. I dashed back to Southampton to fit in the second half of Midnight Tango, for which my daughter, Caroline, is the wardrobe supervisor. The two ladies who I came back with were surprised just how much I had enjoyed it. Strictly Come Dancing is not on my must view programmes – and, in fact, I have never seen one. From what I gather – it is more enjoyed by ladies. Hence, they were suprised I enjoyed it so much.
Just had confirmation of a huge guest for JH Meets. I have been trying for some considerable time – and he has said yes. There is not too much travelling – either.
I have just seen the list of songs for the new album from Craig Douglas – which is being produced by one of Britain’s most successful young talents, who is no starnger to the current pop charts. There are so many brilliant songs and many will surprise his fans – and he is sure to make new ones with this late summer release. Met up with Craig on Saturday and he is so excited by this project. I am so delighted they are even considering having The Creep on the album. This is a far cry from A Teenager In Love.
