WC March 21
Went to London on Monday to record an interview with Charlie Landsborough for a special Mother’s Day JH Meets show that also includes Daniel O’Donnell. The first time they have ever been on the same show. I doubled up with a fantastic story for Father’s Day, featuring the BBC’s Justin Webb. All will be revealed in time. I also have plans for another interview for my Father’s Day show.
Plans are in hand for a Jet Harris Special to celebrate the life of the legendary bass guitarist. I interviewed Jet during the 80s, 90s, 00s and the current decade. The show will feature a cross section from many of them. Jet chose JH Meets to reveal he had moved to the Island.
I caught up with Chas ‘n’ Dave at Fareham on Wednesday. It is their final tour – and there will not be another. Sadly, Dave lost his wife a couple of years ago and now does not wish to tour or record again. Chas will continue with his Chas Hodges Band. You can hear more on Sunday’s JH Meets at 3pm. Barry Cryer is at 2pm.
Tuesday was an exciting day with the confirmation of two major interviews which will be up there with some of the biggest names I have interviewed in the near 21 years of JH Meets. Both have been major targets of mine for several years – and they are not five minute celebrities but genuine stars. Expect more news before the end of next week.
Thursday was not a day I wish to remember with any great pleasure. There was not a happy ending. I undertook a 14 hour round trip to obtain an interview and could only have got five minutes. In the end I declined and left quietly.
