WC JANUARY 17
I just can’t believe it! Hearing one of my interviews on Radio 2 is a real dream. Larry Adler was played on Tuesday night’s Desmond Carrington’s Iconic Fifties. There are ten more of my interviews in the next five weeks – and more later in the year, in the second series. Desmond was very kind. With Desmond, David Jacobs and Teddy Johnson on the show – it was three ageless broadcasters together. Well four – if you include me!!! I am so much younger of course!!!
Saw two excellent shows this week, with widely contrasting storylines. Joseph is always a most enjoyable experience but I was disappointed with the costumes, particuarly some of those used by Joseph, played by Keith Jack, who was a runner-up to Lee Mead in the TV reality show search for a Joseph. He just didn’t impress me in this excellent production, Quite the poorest Joseph I have ever seen – with no charimsa at all.
The Red Tie production of Iron, at the Quay Arts Centre, Newport, was one of this group’s finest ever productions. Can’t say too much as it could figure in the County Press Amateur Theatre Awards later in the year.
Apparently, tickets for the Fish and Chip Supper plus yours truly doing his Chatting Up The Stars bit, are selling well at the Newclose Cricket Ground, Newport. The date is Wednesday January 26 at 7-30pm. More information can be obtained from the Newclose website or by phoning the venue. What a bargain at only £10 a ticket!!!!!
