WC JUNE 7.

On Monday I saw a brilliant play – When Harry Met Sally – at the Mayflower, Southampton, which starred two actors I had interviewed a few days earlier in Harlow, Rupert Hill and Sarah Jane Dunn, who were both quite brilliant and well supported by a cast of four.

On Wednesday a famous TV face for over 50 years arrived on my doorstep for an interview. It made a change from racing up to London. He proved an interviewers dream – I just couldn’t stop him talking. A 35 minute interview was planned – and I ended up with 70 mins – and another, unexpected, 2-hour special. What a fascinating chat!!

On Thursday night I had a night off – so I went to the theatre. I was so glad I did and it was a thrill to see so many people at Shanklin Theatre, including three huge coach loads. It was like the old days. What a brilliant show, too! The Best of the West End is highly recommended and features a talented company of eleven plus an excellent four piece band. The volunteers, who now act as front of house and box-office staff, are doing such an excellent job. It proved to me, once again, that we must help save Shanklin Theatre.
