The week got off to a sad start with the death of Sir Stirling Moss. I was lucky enough to be invited to his home in 2007 to interview him. It was a day I will never forget and he was very kind to me. I have returned to that interview to celebrate Stirling’s life. There is a direct link to listen to it from the news page of this website.
History was made on Tuesday when I was taking my exercise near my home and there was not a soul in sight. For some reason, as I sat briefly to take a breather, I dared myself to take my first ever selfie. I had never got into this craze. For posterity it is pictured.
Had a nice telephone chat with my old friend Tony Adams. That is the guy who played Dr Bywaters in General Hospital and Adam Chance in Crossroads. He lives near Brighton and has always been a fan of the Isle of Wight. He retired from acting around seven years ago. The first time I interviewed him was back in the 80s. It was for the Weekly Post. He phoned to say how much he appreciated the article and sent a nice letter to the editor. That didn’t happen too often.
Still writing a few articles for the County Press. One was on ace swimmer Darren Mew and the other about two famous songwriters who both died on the Isle of Wight.
