DEATH OF LES REED.

John is saddened by the news of the death of his long term friend LES REED, the brilliant songwriter and musician. John interviewed him on three occasions and they have kept in regular touch for many years. John has paid him this tribute.

“He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. So gentle, kind and a superb musician and songwriter. I contacted him recently to tell him I had finally managed to get a copy of his rare vinyl album, Connie Francis Sings The Songs Of Les Reed. He was delighted. Les was also very kind to me when my wife died. I was thrilled to do a two hour radio special about his life and music which I know he appreciated. One of the true gents of the music business has sadly left us. His songs like The Last Waltz, Delilah and There’s A Kind Of Hush will live on for ever.
