JOHN REMEMBERS KEITH CHEGWIN

John was saddened by the death of Keith Chegwin. John last interviewed him in 2013, at the Mayflower, Southampton, when he was appearing in Nutcracker On Ice, with his Russian skating partner Olga. Keith was in great form and they had real fun, as you could have expected from a legend like Keith. John had previously met him at Shanklin Theatre in the ’80s, when he came to appear in a children’s show. In the middle of the interview Maggie Philbin walked in. She was visiting the Isle of Wight. Later, the news of their romance, and subsequent marriage, made big news.
