WC OCTOBER 9.
On Thursday October 12 it would have been our 54th wedding anniversary, I was so pleased to dine at the Woodman’s Arms, Wootton, with my best man, Jim Yeates, and his wife Pat, plus two of our great friends, Tony and Jennie Lake. We drank a toast to my late wife, Heather. My lovely new lady, Bertie, was with us. It was a lunchtime to remember.
Earlier in the week I had been writing chapters for my 2018 book.
On Friday I was honoured to speak at the Island Literary Festival. It turned out better than I expected and the audience seemed to like my talk. I was so impressed with the organisation and how they looked after their guest speakers.
I am always flattered to receive messages from famous people and this has happened a few times this week, with regard to how my new book has been accepted. This goes on general sale from Wednesday October 18. I am signing at the County Press shop on Saturday October 21, from 10am to noon, and in the afternoon at Glyn Morgan’s, Shanklin, from 2-4pm.
