WC NOVEMBER 21.

The week got off to a brilliant start with a Tuesday night visit to see The Million Dollar Quartet at the Mayflower, Southampton. What a brilliant show and I could go back a few times this week. It’s that good. It’s the story of rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Sam Phillips, who formed the legendary Sun record label. He’s played by Jason Donovan who I’ve interviewed on a few occasions. Managed to say a quick hello after the show. The story recalls the night Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis all met up in the Sun studio. The music is superb with great musicians playing live on stage. There is no doubt that the show is stolen by Martin Kaye, who plays Jerry Lee Lewis, as good as the others were, he was just sensational and the after show conversations were all about his performance. It runs until Saturday November 26.

I am delighted to report that Ryde’s Busy Bee store are now stocking my book. I am delighted to accept their kind offer of an all day signing session on Sunday December 4.

On Thursday morning I was thrilled to be interviewed on Radio Jersey. I appeared on a 10 minute segment on the Tony Gillham Show. There is another planned for Radio Humberside at the end of next week.

On Saturday I nipped up to London to see The Last Tango for the fourth time. I had seen it three times on tour but did want to see it in the West End. So far, I have been lucky enough to see every West End show my daughter Caroline has been involved with. It was a great afternoon at the Phoenix Theatre and a pleasure to be in such a receptive audience who all stood at the end of this wonderful show. I managed to have brief chats with the talented stars of the show Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, whom I admire so much. They are stunning dancers and no-one can touch them for the tango, as the audience demonstrated. Sadly it ends on December 3.
