WC August 8
Much of the week was spent tidying up the final proof reading for my new book. Thanks to some extra help from my son, Sean, this has now been finalised and the book is with the printers. My thoughts are now on at least two follow-ups.
Went to the Ventnor Fringe on Thursday to see my good friend LES PAYNE at the Winter Gardens. Thoroughly loved his show and they did so well considering the lead actor, due to play David Bowie, was taken ill and could not perform. His young Isle of Wight relation, Keir Hicks, was also on the show. What a brilliant young talent. He sings brilliantly and plays awesome guitar.
I managed to keep clear of Cowes during their special week. It was much quieter running through the cool paths of Brighstone Forest and beyond.
Had a wonderful end of the week when I met up with TV, stage and movie actress SUSAN KYD, who made a private visit to Chale. She gave me a superb interview which will soon be available on a podcast. My kind of lady – very smart, such pleasant company, a warm personality and a fascinating story to tell. She was visiting Chale Antiques, right opposite their wonderful church. She also did not know beforehand that I wanted to interview here.
