WC JULY 25.
The first rough proof of the book arrived from the printers. Now searching for mistakes – and have found a few. I have now enlisted two different eyes to give it the once over. I have definitely decided on a follow up and am working on the stars to be featured in it. I have a few stories to tell.
Work took me to Freshwater on Tuesday and I discovered a lovely new tea room in Freshwater Bay called The Piano, which is the old post office. Nice ambience but was surprised to wait 30 minutes for soup and a roll. I also wish they would play piano music whilst you eat and not noisy pop. More suitable for the idea of the tea room.
Had news of a confirmed interview with a star I first met 40 years ago at the Ponda Rosa, Ryde. Looking forward to it.
It happened on Saturday evening when I met up with JIM DAVIDSON at Gurnard Pines. We had such great fun together and I think it was the best interview we have ever done together. Jim has really mellowed in the past few years and it turned out to be just two old mates having a chat. The podcast of this brand new interview will go on line on Friday lunchtime August 5. There will also be highlights from that first 1976 interview at the Ponda Rosa, recorded on a cassette player. The full house at the Pines loved every minute and there were real jokes – unlike some of today’s modern intellectual comics who are not really funny. It was such a real pleasure to be back at Gurnard Pines and to be made so welcome by the management and Jim himself. Don’t miss the interview he is in great form and there are a few outspoken surprises.
