On Sunday night I headed to the Mayflower, Southampton, to see the latest Solid Silver 60s Show, which starred Peter Noone, Dave Berry, Brian Hyland, the Merseybeats and the New Amen Corner. The latter were the surprise hit of the night and were all brilliant musicians. I loved all the acts but not the Merseybeats. Sadly, they seem to have lost it somewhat. What energy Peter Noone has still got.
A very close friend had a health scare on Monday but, thankfully, she was given the all clear. What a relief!
It was another head-down week for my forthcoming book. I have now completed 70 of the 80 chapters and there is so much interest in it already. It was Marty Wilde’s idea and he seems to have loved what he has read so far.
I had a great Saturday night at Shanklin Theatre when I went to see one of my favourite showbiz people – Roy Hudd. we had a nice dressing room chat and then I saw his music hall show which was brilliant. The punters wanted more – and he did almost 2hours 30 minutes.
