WC December 7.
Wednesday was not a good day. I went to the funeral of my long-term friend Peter Brennen, who promoted over 200 shows on the Island and arranged numerous interviews for me. We had worked so well together over the years. The Wootton Crematorium was nearly full but many did not know it was even on. There had been no notification in the County Press. He had a good send off and we had a few laughs, from many memories, which he would have loved. He was such a fun person.
The following day I interviewed the legendary ANITA HARRIS, backstage at the Kings, Southsea, where she is appearing in Cinderella until January 3. What a lovely lady and a real credit to the business. It’s a great show and one of the best I had seen at the Kings in recent years. Anita gives a master class in how to perform on stage. She makes it look so easy – and it certainly isn’t. There are brilliant performances from her supporting cast and none more than Matt Dallen who is outstanding as Buttons. The two Ugly Sisters, Phil Randall and Jack Edwards, are two of the best I have seen in recent years. It’s well worth a visit.
