WC January 12
I had a super Tuesday morning at the home of Island musician Brian Sharpe in the company of two other mature rockers Doug Watson and Keith Roberts. They gave me a great interview in the biggest rainstorm I have seen for years and we even had to stop for a while due to the hailstones on the conservatory. They were on great form. They are on JH Meets on Sunday February 1 – and they may be in the CP a couple of days before.
In the evening I enjoyed the hospitality of a wonderful evening at the Island Sailing Club at Cowes. It was a super supper and I was there for the after meal entertainment. It seemed to go down well and there is even talk of going back next year. Met some old friends and made a few new ones. It was such a pleasure to attend and the company was perfect. I left doubly happy – I found a guest for JH Meets.
Went to the Wight Island Players panto at Bembridge on Saturday afternoon. It was better than some Island pantos I had seen just before Christmas. It has just not been a good time for local pantos. I may be struggling to find four to nominate for the Theatre Awards.
Earlier in the day I was interviewed by Anne Lovelock at the Sunshine Radio studio at St Marys. She did an excellent job and I look forward to hearing it. Great to go back to where I started back in 1974.
