WC NOVEMBER 4.
It’s been an office week with so much preparation for the IW Amateur Theatre Awards Gala Night at the Shanklin Theatre on Tuesday November 19. There is a lot more to work on next week.
I did have an exciting Friday morning when I went for a grand tour and an interview with two delightful people – Lincoln Miles and Lisa Traxler – who own one of the Island’s most famous houses. Their Binstead home was featured on TV’s Grand Designs and has been seen by millions all over the world. I loved the experience and they have a fascinating story which can be heard on IW Radio’s JH Meets on Sunday November 17.
I ended the week by attending two plays – the first I will leave at that. The second, Red Tie’s Betrayal, at the Apollo, just happens to be one of my favourite movies starring Jeremy Irons, Patricia Hodge and Ben Kinglsey. I had never seen the stage version and was most impressed. There were outstanding performances from Helen and Steve Reading and Paul Gwinnett. It was all over by 9pm, too.
