WC SEPTEMBER 16.
Early in the week it was head down on my PC. I had four articles to write and complete the tough task of deciding the nominations for this year’s Island Amateur Theatre Awards. That, in a way was the easy part. Choosing the winners is going to be a major problem this year – particulary with so many talented youngsters being nominated.
For some pleasurable relief I took a lovely lady to the Mayflower, Southampton, to watch the new musical Carnaby Street. What an evening that was!! The company was good and the show just brilliant. It must end up in the West End. There are so many brilliant songs from the 60s era played by an amazing four-piece band and some exceptional singers from the talented young cast. I could have gone again the next night. There is also a great story within the music and the songs are cleverly chosen to help portray the storyline.
I went to a local show – later in the week – and I think I aught to leave it there.
Certain aspects of my working life are causing me a little grief at the moment – and I can only stand so much!
