I went to see DOMINIC POPE on Tuesday. He has appeared more times on stage at Shanklin Theatre than any other person in the history of the theatre. Dom has a fascinating story and will soon appear on John Hannam Meets, on IW Radio.
I am trying to get a sponsor or sponsors for the IW Theatre Awards. I am having some help from one particular lady – from an Island theatre group. An anonymous member of another group – has agreed to cover this year’s event. This is a wonderful offer and does guarantee this November’s event at Shanklin Theatre.
I was hoping to ask Jay Miller from the touring circus to appear on John Hannam Meets. Sadly, there is no Jay Miller working with the circus currently on the Island. It would have been a nice idea.
Saw an excellent show on Saturday night at the Apollo Theatre – By George! It’s Gershwin! The second half was a real joy.
I get very frustrated. Interviews in the summer are not always easy to get – particuarly from famous people. I have recently written to two famous actors with a view to possible interviews – and did not even get a reply from either. A polite “no thanks” would not take much of an effort.
