WC JANUARY 7
Busy trying to organise interviews for forthcoming shows. Some are proving easy and others are very frustrating. Had some light relief when I made my third visit to Bonchurch Social Club for one of my talks. I tried something different and it seemed to work well. The members are always very receptive and welcoming. It was a very enjoyable evening. They must have enjoyed it. They have asked my to come back for the fourth time in January 2014.
I saw the brilliant After Henry on TV over Christmas. A great story written by my old friend Michelle Magorian, who used to live in Bembridge. She wrote the wonderful Goodnight Mister Tom. I have made contact again with Michelle and we are planning to meet up soon. I have also just purchased Back Home, another great story from her. This one stars Sarah Lancashire.
Saw a fascinating play written by the Island’s Gwen Stevens on Saturday night at the Trinity Theatre, Cowes. It was set at Christmas and called Snowed Under. It was a play with serious themes but there were many lighter moments well perfected by the excellent cast. I nearly didn’t make the show. I was walking from where I had parked the car and as I approchaed the hill down to the theatre I slipped on a wet manhole cover and went sprawling. I was lucky not to have broken a few bones. The theatre were most concerned but all was ok.
