WC May 23
I’ve had a great tip-off that a guy who was a record plugger for over 30 years is now on the Island. We have been in contact and all will be revealed soon. He’s got some great stories.
I’ve spent several hours preparing my Jet Harris Two Hour Celebration Show for Sunday May 29. I have found several great highlights from 11 years of interviewing him and many contain his dry sense of humour. Fans of Jet and the Shadows are being notified via various websites and many are likely to be listening via the IW Radio website. Jet’s partner, Janet, has given her blessing and there will be so many hit records that he played on. It’s also rather nice that the show now goes out at 4pm and is repeated at 10pm.
News of my Jet Harris Special has been sent to various websites involved with the music of the Shadows and Jet. Many fans will be listening on Sunday via the IW Radio website. A lady called Audrey Knapp has been so helpful in this direction.
Currently several famous actors are on my radar for future shows. Hopefully, I will have some good news in the next few weeks.
Working on two fascinating father and son interviews for Father’s Day. If all goes to plan, this should be a memorable show and will be heard twice, which is very exciting.
Went to the Nuffield, Southampton, on Saturday afternoon to see a brilliant play called Bully Boy, starring the supreme Anthony Andrews and a fantastic newcomer, Joshua Miles, who was making his professional debut. He must have a glittering career ahead of it. En route, I bought a Southampton Echo and was thrilled to see a huge spread about my 2-hour Jet Harris Special. Got back in record time from the venue, too. The play finished at 4-40, I got a bus from outside the theatre and made the 5-15 ferry and was back on the Island by 5-40, just an hour – and the Nuffield is on the University complex a few miles from the city centre.
