WC MAY 2.
Nipped over to Chichester on Tuesday to interview one of my favourite actors, Joe McFadden. His hit TV series include The Crow Road, Sex, Chips and Rock ‘n’ Roll, Spark House, Cranford, Heartbeat and Casualty. He is soon to star in She Loves Me at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester.
How sad to hear of Henry Cooper’s death. I was lucky enough to interview him twice. I plan to repeat one of them, as a celebration of his life, in a few weeks time. One of my real sporting idols and he was such a lovely man.
Went to the Andover home of Reg Presley, the front man of the Troggs, on Thursday. Reg is doing well after a stroke in Spain, last August, and is now doing a few gigs. Reg and the Troggs are heading for Shanklin Theatre on Friday June 3, with the Animals and Steve Ellis, the voice of Love Affair.
Looking forward to a very special interview that has come in for August. Its all a little secret at present. More news soon.
Finished the week with an unexpected noon Saturday visit to London’s National Theatre. There I met up with 20 year old Island-born theatre director Joe Plumb and the star of his current London show – Mark Savage, who was so famous for playing Grange Hill bully-boy Gripper Stebson. Joe has won the Best Director in the County Press Theatre Award’s for the past two years.
