WC JULY 12.

Met an amazing lady called Carinthia West and her story is quite remarkable. There has been local publicity about her life and so much more will be revealed when our interview is aired. She was so fascinating, I just kept her going longer than anticipated.

On Wednesday I went to a lovely peaceful Warwickshire village to interview Bev Bevan. What a CV!! If anyone asks Bev what he has done in his life he need just reply, The Move, ELO and Black Sabbath. A great old rocker with a brilliant story and he is still playing today in three different shows, featuring legendary names from Brummie bands. On the way back we went and had tea and cake, at home, with one of the most famous television faces of the last 50 years. Another exciting adventure – and long may they continue.

I now have eleven interviews in the can and can barely wait to use them. I’m going though a golden spell at present when opportunities just keep coming. Somes names are a little too hot to reveal at this stage.

A chance meeting during the week may lead to some unexpected opportunities to further interviews – including a Hollywood star, who I last met in the 70s.

On Saturday night, in a small way, I was delighted to be involved with the opening of Carinthia West’s brilliant photographic exhibition, Hanging Out, at the Quay Arts Centre, Newport. Her story is quite remarkable and the pictures include some of the most famous people in the world, including Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, George Harrison, Carly Simon, Helen Mirren, King Hussein and David Bowie.

There was also a surprise guest – stage, TV and movie actor Harriet Walter, who has enjoyed so many successes, including Sense and Sensibility, The Men’s Room and, most recently, Law and Order. She also managed to find time to record a 20 minute interview for a forthcoming John Hannam Meets.
